Somewhere in your city, someone is making food you would love.
Maybe it's a curry cooked the way their family has always cooked it. Maybe it's sourdough from a starter older than some marriages, dumplings folded by hand every Sunday, or a cake recipe that doesn't exist anywhere online.
That food exists. The person making it exists. And there's a good chance you'll never find each other.
That gap is what TrulyServd is for.
The problem has two sides
The cook's side. Selling great food locally is hard, and not because the food isn't good enough. A home cook, a baker or a farmers'-market maker can't open a restaurant to sell a few dozen portions a week. So they post online and hope people see it, announce market days in stories that vanish, take orders in DMs and keep track of it all in their heads. The people who would become regulars never hear about them.
The buyer's side. Most ways to order food online are built around restaurants, which can handle fixed menus, fixed hours and delivery fees. A lot of the best food isn't made in a restaurant. It's made in a home kitchen, sold from a market stall or a weekend pop-up. You find it by luck: a colleague mentions it once, or you happen to be at the right market on the right Saturday. There's nowhere to look it up.
What's missing
Maps help you find places. Delivery apps move restaurant food around. Social media gets attention.
None of them help you find food made in small batches, on a cook's own schedule, and then order it from that person. That's the missing piece.
What TrulyServd does
For cooks: a kitchen that fits how you work. You set when you cook and when you hand off, add your dishes with the lead time each one needs, and plan how many portions you'll make. Buyers order ahead into the pickup slots you can actually make. Orders for days you've planned confirm themselves; everything else is a pre-order you accept or decline. Buyers pay you directly, with cash or Interac e-Transfer, and TrulyServd never touches the money.
For buyers: one place to find the people making real food near you. Search by dish and city, or browse by cuisine, category and dietary tag. Every kitchen is reviewed before it goes live, and every dish lists its ingredients and allergens. Order ahead, pick it up from the person who made it, and pay them directly.
The goal is a city where the best food isn't hidden: where the cook who has made one dish for twenty years has a page, a schedule and a simple way to take orders.
Where we are
TrulyServd is new, and there aren't many kitchens on it yet. That's the honest answer. The ordering works end to end: listings, pickup scheduling, pre-orders, order chat, payment tracking and reviews.
If you make food and you're tired of running it through social media, see how selling works. If you're looking for food that didn't come from a restaurant, see what's near you.
